Cake and Macarons for the Holidays
For Christmas, I made a reindeer and gingerbread cake, and also peach macarons. I also decorated my dresser, using birch branches to hold some jewelry and lanterns, which are one of my favorites to hang from tree branches as it creates such a fairtytale feel.

My Birthday Cake
I made a cherry blossom cake for my birthday, I wanted to represent the last year of my life with the cherry blossoms, symbolizing changes and eradication of a previous stage in my life, and then renewal and birth of a new stage, just as cherry blossoms quickly die and then our reborn again. The circle of life. All the covering and flowers were made out of fondant. I created the flowers by dying the white fondant two different shades of pink, and then used a big and small flower cookie cutter to cut the initial shape, and then the end of a pencil eraser to create indents in each petal, and bent them slightly.

Mermaid Cake
I baked a mermaid cake as requested by my sister for her birthday. It is tinted ombre blue icing piped along the outside to imitate waves, and the mermaid, rock and starfish are made out of fondant. For the mermaid tail, I used toothpicks to create scales on her tail.
