Thrift Store Haul+DIY

I went thrift store shopping this past weekend for pretty much the first time, where I actually went to multiple stores and rummaged through the rocks to find the diamonds. I was happy to find several pieces that I really liked, and they added to my already quite pink wardrobe. I found two tops, the pink one for $1.99, and the other white Ralph Lauren tank top with ties I bought for a bargain of only $1.00! In addition, I bought two pants that I turned into shorts, the Calvin Klein light pink for only $2.99 and the other, for $1.99. I decided to make two different hems, one that I cut, folded up, and then ironed in place, and the other, that I also cut up but used a knife to rough up the edges for a more tattered look. I think that when I put the more tattered shorts into the wash, it will get a more worn in look in time so I didn't want to rough it up too much in the beginning. Now I no longer have to search endlessly for high-waisted shorts but instead I can go to thrift stores. Overall, a great weekend of shopping!

I am in love with all these inspirational pictures, if only I could rock an embellished corset and bunny ears to baking such beautiful pastel cupcakes, which would be so complimentary for a garden party. I'll just have to keep it in mind because Spring will be coming soon!

Birthday Celebration

I took my boyfriend out for dinner near a beautiful lake for his birthday, and we had some scumptious sushi that ended with a slice of cake for the birthday boy. I wore my reversable fur coat, which is waterproof on the other side and convenient for a spontaneous rainfall, which doesn't occur often in California anyways, but is nevertheless very handy, and my Peter Pan polka dot tank top with my black wedges, which are both from Forever 21.

Mondayz

If I had a pink room, this would be perfection.

I love my signature scent, Chloe, which I had wanted for a long time and finally got it as a present. With its musky and spicy smell, with hint of rose, it is sometimes not preferred for its accustomed smell, yet it is very much adored for its scent by many others.

In addition, this is my DIY headband resting on my lampshade that I wore in my Valentine's Day Post. All the tools that I needed were hot glue, a couple different stems of flowers (in my case purple and pink) from Michaels, and a green headband. Voila! A dainty flower headband to embrace the inner flower child and/or carefree hippie :)

The Grove

I spent the day at The Grove, amidst the array of sweet candy apples at the Farmer's Market to the trolley, providing a nice view of the shops and restaurants that border the pedestrian filled street. After walking around, I went to a free movie premiere at The Grove theater, and enjoyed the movie and the extremely lush red seating.
I wore my favorite double breasted Peter Pan collar coat, and my only wish is that I could have more Peter Pan collars in my wardrobe. Wearing such a fun collar is like embracing the little girl that is still inside all of us, and paired with my favorite shoes, my gold oxfords, makes for a comfy outfit with a splash of sparkle. Also, I tried something new with my hair, and braided it and put it into a bun with my number one hair accessories, my Spin Pins. They look like two little corkscrews and are twisted into your hair to make it stay, no need for tons of bobby pins, they work wonders!

Post Valentine's Day

One of the acceptable days to wear pink and red together, yesterday I baked my first ever batch of red velvet French macarons. They are a little tricky but work the work! I can't wait to bake them again and improve on the flavor, fluffiness, and overall scrumptious look that they exude. In addition to baking, my boyfriend took me out to Morton's Steakhouse in Beverly Hills where we had a lovely Valentine's Dinner.

Audition

Today I went to a commercial audition and had to dress edgy and rock n' roll. Seeing as though I am quite a girl girl, who much prefers pastel over black, (and smiling for the camera rather than trying to keep a straight face) I was scrambling the night before trying to figure out what to wear. Nevertheless, I paired my American Apparel hotpants with patterned tights from Hot Topic and hopefully the casting director appreciated my outfit choice!

The Night Sky

Amidst the sun and the tranquil blue skies, it is a rare rainy day in Southern California, where most of the afternoon looks as dark as night, and the emergence of the twinkling of the stars as the evening comes will be sure to be covered by the hovering mass of clouds.
What better subsitution for the real night sky than to be inspired by one of my favorite collections by Christopher Kane in 2011, to better figure out how to replicate cosmic icing onto a fondant cake for a sweet galaxy desert.
