Hunger Games

(source: teenvogue)

Just like many others, I went and saw the Hunger Games, and unlike many books turned movies that I love including Harry Potter and Twilight, I felt that the Hunger Games really was quite accurate to the book. I was happy that instead of being highly critical and analyzing every detail, I was able to sit back, relax, and enjoy an exciting adventure with a pinch of romance delivered from very talented actors. Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson's Teenvogue photoshoots are one of my favorites, with such wonderful clothes such as patterned prints and matching heels and a sleek dressy pants suit outfit dressed down.

Sweet Delights

Starting off the week with some sweet treats, whether it is accessorizing with my ice cream cone necklace, or eating a lovely rainbow cupcake made by my sister, a little sugar can brighten any day!

St. Paddy's Day

In honor of St. Patrick's Day I baked green cake pops filled with homemade frosting that tastes light, fluffy and sweet, with butter yellow cake. I also wore a teal/green sweater from Forever 21 and my swirl patterned tights. I paired these with a necklace that used to be my mother's and a headband from Aldo accessories. Most of the day was rainy and I was able to spend time catching up with a good friend while eating the festive cake pops.

Work to Casual Wear

I did a student commercial for Slim Jim over the weekend, and I was playing the waitress to a couple in a restaurant. I had to quickly buy a black dress shirt which I got from Forever21. What I love about this dress shirt is that the loose collar, paired with a slightly thinner material and rolled up sleeves, makes it very easy to turn it into a casual top. It can can then be tucked into shorts or skirts and have a more carefree and less work feel. I put the top together with my thrifted diy pink shorts and skinny black belt. Over-the-knee socks complement the black and is perfect for slightly cooler days when the sun is not too hot.

Obsessed with Elie Saab

I cannot get over how wonderful Elie Saab is, his Haute Couture Spring Summer 2012 and Winter Fall 2011- 2012 lines are my favorite right now, with its pastels, beads, florals, and bow belts. It is a real life fairytale for any woman lucky enough to get her hands on one of these one-of-a-kind pieces.

Hawaii

I spent the past five days in beautiful Hawaii on the island of Oahu, with a hotel room that faced the ocean for a glorious view. I had the warm sun shining on my face, flowers in my hair, and wonderful snorkeling with both fishes and sea turtles alike. My parents renewed their vows after 25 years where they had originally gotten married in Hawaii, and I wore a pink and white striped sundress (and had the rare occurence to actually wear my falsies). During the vacation I also wore my white Ralph Lauren top and Calvin Klein shorts that I cut myself that I had both bought from thrift store previously, and they really came in handy with the balmy weather. I paired them with my pink heart sunglasses and my black and creme bow purse from Forever21. Now it is back to reality and school work!
