Summer Day

I'm enjoying summertime for a couple of weeks before I start my new job at Evite. It is nice to just relax by the pool and spend time with friends. One of my favorite new pieces of jewelry is the jaguar necklace that used to be my aunt's which she gave to me. Also, I wanted to make my nail polish similar to my ring from Forever 21, as if diamonds were really on my finger, and using several coats of speckled silver nail polish really did create a very jewelled effect. Plus, this past weekend my sister and I got cute little turtles!

House Hunting

My family and I went house hunting today in hopes of finding our dream house, but to no such luck. However, many of the houses we visited had their own parks, swimming pools and gyms, like it was a little town within a town.

Design for Humanity

Check out Design for Humanity fashion, music and art event! Billabong will be hosting it on July 25th, and proceeds will go to the Cultivate Foundation. I personally would love to see my new favorite band perform, Imagine Dragons! The link to the website is down below :)

Michaels Spec Commercial

I did a commercial spec for Michaels and I had to bake something so that the director could film it, and because she asked me to bake either six cupcakes or one mini cake, I decided to combine them into one! I made mini cakes out of a regular sized cupcake and a mini cupcake ontop. Decorating is my favorite part, and I made colored homemade fondant to cover my little yellow butter mini cup"cakes". Even after I finished baking, the cakes exuded a sugary smell that made everyone's mouth water so it was time to dig in after the commercial shoot! It was really fun, I played a shopper who shopped down the baking aisle and I later presented my cakes. Overall, it was such a short and sweet commercial where I met great people.

Pasadena

I am currently housesitting in Pasadena, and I have been lucky enough to be located a mere 5 minutes walk to Old Town where there are free summer concerts. So far I have been able to see Milo Greene, Grouplove, and Yuna, which were all such great performances! I am wearing a black fringe top I bought from Canada, diy thrifted shorts, and earrings from Forever21. The sunglasses are my mom's and they are the clearest ones I have by far! I am across from a park that also houses free summer concerts and it is great to take a stroll there in the evening time when the weather is cooler.

Macaron Baking Spree!

As well as many other bloggers out there, I have become obssessed with the french macaron. I do not come across macarons too much here where I live, so instead of buying them, I make them myself! I have already been making them in the past, but I have begun to make more and more, especially when my family begs me to make them so they can eat them all! I have yet to start making the different flavors, but I think I will start soon as I have pretty successfully mastered the basics, especially since I love making them different colors.

Manhattan Beach

I had a job interview today for a staffing and recruiting company, and after the interview, my boyfriend and I drove to Manhattan Beach which is only ten minutes away. There were so many people out and about in the little beach town, complimented by nice bakeries, restaurants, and boutiques. We treated ourselves to fish tacos and ice cream cookie sandwiches dipped in milk chocolate. After, we walked along the pier and relaxed in the warm sand. I am wearing a blue lace crop top with a pink cinched bra underneath from Brandy Melville's, and my shorts are diy cuffed semi-high waisted shorts that I thrifted.

Vancouver

Now that graduation is over, I am taking a vacation with my family in my hometown of Vancouver, Canada. I spent today walking in Stanley Park, which is surrounded by the beautiful northern waters. Across the way is the most stunning view of the city, and I took advantage of the great photo opportunity to snap this picture.

Graduation '12!

Who knew that graduation gowns had such crazy dolman sleeves?! With all the hectic studying for the last of my finals and presentations, I can finally say "hello" again to my blog. With graduations comes celebration, balloons and a beautiful yellow bouquet of flowers that I received on my doorstep from my family in Canada. My school education is now officially over for me, and now it is time for the ever looming application of jobs in hopes that I can get hired with my new Bachelor degree. I will be eating, drinking, and sleeping job applications!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! I created these easy-to-make (and tasty) bunnies in honor of the holiday. I baked a yellow butter cake in two 9'' pans, and I cut each cake in half so that there were two semi-circles. Then I put the two semi-circles together, flat-side down, to make the body. I spread homemade frosting, made with a special ingredient of flour that came out light and fluffy, and dyed it pink and yellow to cover the cake. Paper ears, a little licorice, candy melt noses and Good N' Plenty candy eyes were the finishing touches of my cute little bunny rabbits!

Fashion Interview

I had a fashion interview at MadisonLosAngeles on Melrose for an internship, where I wore a mod black dress with my low heeled black oxfords, and for cover up I wore my pastel pink blazer. That day, my boyfriend surprised me after the interview with a bouquet of very pretty daisies perfect for Spring, and I also made golden butter cupcakes topped with a fluffy vanilla frosting. What a wonderful day!
